Why Ohio Weekend Getaway Seekers Keep Coming Back to the Mohican Hills

A lot of Ohio getaways get visited once. The Mohican Hills tend to get visited every year, and once you talk to enough repeat guests, the reasons start to sound the same.

The Landscape Itself Is the Draw

Part of it is the terrain: rolling wooded hills instead of flat farmland, with the Clear Fork Gorge cutting through the middle of it. It is a landscape that genuinely does not look like most of Ohio.

Part of it is having a genuinely private stay waiting at the end of the drive. Whether that is one of our cabins or a treehouse thirty feet up, guests are not sharing a wall, a parking lot, or a lobby with anyone else.

Close Enough, Far Enough

Guests from Columbus and Cleveland regularly tell us the two-hour drive feels longer than it actually is, and they mean that as a compliment. It is close enough for a weekend, but far enough that the trip genuinely feels like unplugging.

Check things to do nearby for a full weekend itinerary, and see current pricing to plan your next visit back.
